University Weekend West Curriculum Released: August 22-24, 2008 – Scottsdale, AZ
The “Prime Game,” and course tracks in commercial automobile and garage risks; general, products, professional and personal lines liability; construction defect; commercial property; additional insureds and certificates of insurance all will be offered by industry leading instructors at this year’s University Weekend (West), August 22-24, 2008 at the Scottsdale Plaza Resort in Scottsdale, AZ.
“University Weekend West has always been an educational event that has earned a formal place on everyone’s schedules each year due not only to the quality of education offerings, but the tremendous networking and enhancement of business relationships that take place in a great venue,” AAMGA University Education Director Jeff Henry said. Last year, 329 participants registered for continuing education and non-CE/Agency Management classes.
The “Prime Game” comes again to the AAMGA University through the generosity and auspices of General Star Management, to provide participants with a full day of actually managing a virtual insurance company. Facilitated by GenStar’s Vickie Seeger and Gregory Diorio, this interactive, group-based exercise is designed to acquaint participants with the decision making process involved in running an insurance company within a uniquely competitive environment.
Rounding out the course offerings will be non-CE sessions including the ever popular CEO Panel – this year to also include a session from representatives of the AAMGA’s Under Forty Organization. Also, classes on developing effective marketing plans for the soft market; customer centric service; negotiations; business writing skills for insurance professionals; multi-generational selling and personal financial planning will be offered.
